Senior Product Owner
About the role
Impala Studios is a hyper fast-growing, mobile tech company. We are looking for a Senior Product Owner to join our Product team.
As a Senior Product Owner your goal is to help the Product team deliver valuable product improvements in a fast and predictable way in this exciting role. You will report to the Head of Product and work with cross-functional teams on various product groups.
We are looking for
- Higher education (HBO) or equivalent ability
- 4+ years relevant work experience as a Product Owner or a similar role.
- Solution and results-oriented. You don’t only detect issues but also provide solutions and aim for results.
- People person. Able to build and create connections within the organization.
- Strategic thinker. You are able to use your critical thinking to solve complex problems and create plans for the future.
- Analytical. You are able to raise the right questions to get to the core of the issue.
- Working experience within (mobile) software development.
- Excellent knowledge of Agile software development, Scrum, or other software development project management frameworks and methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
What you'll do
- Gather and assess the needs of the business and translate this to a concrete roadmap for products/teams, in alignment with our product portfolio and company goals.
- Responsible for a smooth handover of backlog items to the teams.
- Report on progress and results to the stakeholders, and be a sparring partner for them.
- Increase project management knowledge and skills and share knowledge within the team.
- Detect and proactively take care of impediments that occur during the sprint.
- Initiate process improvements, particularly for the PO work but also for the scrum teams as a whole.
- Initialize and advise on localisation efforts to adapt ASO towards different markets and cultures.
- Oversee team members’ work and match with company goals, quality and guidelines.
- Coach the PO team. This includes communicating team goals and identifying new areas for improvement, growth and trainin
- Take an active role in hiring and onboarding new team members.
- Take personal initiatives and consult with a variety of experts and stakeholders within the company, with respect to work outside of the teams.
- Help to build, maintain and optimize our internal products knowledge base.
